HU Goes 4-1 in Baker Games at Capital Classic

DOVER, DEL. - The Lady Bison bowlers picked up four wins in the baker games during competition at the Capital Classic, hosted by Delaware State, on Feb. 9-10 in Dover, Del.

Howard's only loss in the team matches came to St. Francis by the score of 758-662. The Bison went on to win its final four contests, taking down Coppin State (610-605), Kutztown (740-688), Cheyney (655-521) and #20 Bowie State (1015-769).

HU went 2-3 in head to head competition on day one, defeating #15 Adelphi 897-886 and Hampton 960-862.

Howard dropped decisions to #20 Bowie State (933-805), tourney champion Farleigh Dickinson (868-816) and #3 Md. Eastern Shore (991-789). Howard totaled 4267 pins in individual play and 2012 pins in the baker games.

Shayla Haynes had a team high pinfall of 912 to pace Howard. Marcia Smith (894), Quinn Thomaston (856) and Brianna Uzzell (847) also turned in good performances. Thomaston knocked down 236 pins in game five, a season high for the junior and Smith had two games over 200.

HU (38-48) returns to action this weekend at the Morgan State Invitational in Baltimore, Md.
