Howard Picks Up Four Wins at Bowie State Classic

BOWIE, MD. - Howard went 3-3 in individual play and picked up a win in the baker competition during play at the Bowie State Classic on Jan. 26-27 in Bowie, Md.

The Lady Bison took down Norfolk State (962-914), South Carolina State (916-762) and Virginia State (875-744) in head to head competition on day two of the classic. Marcia Smith had a team high pinfall of 1123 that day and bowled a 205 in her first game while Sicilia Baldwin (1109 pins) and Shayla Haynes (1084) also knocked down over 1,000 pins. Baldwin had two games over 200 (213 in game two, 207 in game three) and Haynes had a season-high 232 pins in game five.

HU dropped contests to Kutztown, St. Peter's and Bowie to finish 3-3 on the day and 4-7 in the competition.

Howard defeated Cheyney 633-504 in the baker competition on day two but fell to St. Francis, Seton Hall, New Jersey City and Adelphi to fall to 1-4 in the team matches.

The Bison will take two weeks off before returning to action on Feb. 9-10 at the Capital Classic in Dover, Del.
