Lady Bison Take 11th at Jeanette Lee Invite

 

Results 

MIDLOTHAIN, VA. - Two wins over nationally ranked Delaware State highlighted Howard's performance at the Jeanette Lee Women's Bowling Invitational, held Dec. 1-2 at St. Paul's College. Howard placed 11th and went 2-4 in individual play and 3-2 in baker competition.

Marcia Smith led the way for the Bison in individual competition and finished the day with a season's high pinfall of 1097. Smith knocked down 230 pins in game five and bowled in all six games, finishing with an average of 182.8.

Sicilia Bladwin (995 pinfall, 233 high game, 165.8 avg.) and Quinn Thomaston (844 pinfall, 168 high game, 140.67 avg.) also bowled in all six games for Howard.

Brianna Uzzell totaled 717 pins in five games while Dalila Cozart (585 pinfall) and Shayla Haynes (256 pinfall) saw action in four and two games, respectively.

HU defeated North Carolina Central 721-697 and Kutztown 819-763 in individual play, but fell to Elmhurst (822-819), #19 St. Peter's (891-742), St. Paul's (849-795) and #4 Central Missiouri (1011-729).

In the baker games on day two, Howard defeated #8 Delaware State twice, 704-676 in match one and 702-599 in match four. The Bison also downed Fayetteville State 697-659, but were downed by #3 Maryland Eastern Shore (796-623) and #7 New Jersey City (780-629).

Howard is off for a few weeks before returning to action on Dec. 27-29 at the FDU Holiday Jamboree in Glassboro, N.J.
