NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Howard defeated LIU and battled tough with #8 Kutztown during play at the 2009 ECAC Championship in North Brunswick, N.J. The Lady Bison wrapped up their regular season at the tournament.
Howard opened up play at the three-day event with singles action. Brianna Uzzell had 701 pins, including a team-high 216 pins in game one. Elizabeth Sanders totaled 623 pins and Shayla Haynes had a 615 pinfall.
Taneeka Hanna (515 pins), Trishana Thomas (510 pins) and Alesyn McCall (484 pins) also saw action for HU.
Day two of the competition saw the Bison finish 0-6 against five nationally ranked teams. Howard was edged by Kutztown, 899-845 in its closest game of the day.
HU downed LIU, 503-467 in the baker games on day three. Howard went 1-2 in the traditional games and 0-2 in the best-of-four matchups. Kutztown again edged HU, 4-3, in the non-traditional baker matchup on day three.
