Bison Pick Up Two Wins at MEAC North
BALTIMORE, MD. - Howard defeated Coppin State in the individual and team games during MEAC North competition Dec. 6-7 in Baltimore, Md.
Day one saw the Bison finish 1-4 against conference foes. HU topped Coppin State 762-635 but fell in matchups to nationally ranked Delaware State (927-686) and Maryland Eastern Shore (1009-744).
Howard also dropped an 868-724 contest to Morgan State and later fell in an 817-751 decision to Hampton.
Shayla Haynes led the Bison with a team-high 799 pinfall. The junior knocked down a match-high 181 pins in game four. Brianna Uzzell finished with 758 pins, including a match-high 175 in game five.
Alesyn McCall totaled 733 pins while Tameeka Hanna (708 pins) and Trishana Thomas (699 pins) also saw action for HU.
The Bison went 1-4 in the baker competition on day two after taking down CSU 649-622.
Howard (10-38, 8-22 MEAC) is off for a month, next returning to action on Jan. 10-11 at MEAC North competition in Millsboro, Del.
