Bowling Opens Up Season at MEAC North
BOWIE, MD. - Howard picked up wins over Coppin State and Morgan State on Nov. 8-9 during MEAC North competition in Bowie, Md. The meet was the season opener for the Lady Bison.
HU took down CSU, 843-698 in individual head-to-head competition on Nov. 8. Brianna Uzzell had a team-high 958 total pins and Shayla Haynes added a 904 total pinfall.
Alesyn McCall (766 pins) and newcomers Trishana Thomas (724 pins) and Taneeka Hanna (604 pins) also saw action for Howard.
The Bison wrapped up day one with a 1-4 record after falling to #9 Delaware State (929-723), #1 Maryland Eastern Shore (1064-770), Hampton (876-863) and Morgan State (935-753).
In baker action on day two, HU defeated the Bears 723-719 and later took down the Eagles 628-501.
Howard went 2-3 in the team games after falling to UMES (799-576), DSU (822-561) and Hampton (726-638), wrapping up the weekend's action with a 3-7 mark.
The Bison return to action on Nov. 15-16 at MEAC North competition in Millsboro, Delaware.
