MILLSBORO, DEL. - Howard defeated LIU and Cheyney in the baker games at the UMES Hawk Classic on Nov. 21-23 in Millsboro, Del.
HU took down the Blackbirds, 666-523 and later defeated the Wolves 571-423.
Howard was edged in two other baker matchups. North Carolina Central narrowly defeated HU 773-742 while Bethune-Cookman took a slim 597-523 victory.
In individual action, Brianna Uzzell knocked down a team-high 203 pins against Adelphi. Uzzell finished with 1,000 pins in six games while Taneeka Hanna was not too far behind with a 903 total pinfall.
Alesyn McCall totaled 829 pins while Trishana Thomas (759 pins) and Sajdah Bryant (622 pins) also saw action for HU.
The Bison wrapped up head-to-head action 0-6 and later finished 2-10 in the baker competition.
Howard (8-30) is off for two weeks before returning to action on Dec. 6-7 at MEAC north competition in Baltimore, Md.
