KUTZTOWN, PA. (www.howard-bison.com) - In their first competition of the 2012-13 season, the Howard women's bowling team notched four wins in team action and one win in bakers play during the KU Fall Bakers-Team Invitational on Oct. 20-21 in Kutztown, Pa.
The two-day event, which was hosted by Kutztown University, featured bowling squads from Adelphi, St. Francis (N.Y.), Long Island, St. Francis (Pa.), Urusline, Howard, Hampton, St. Peter's, Medaille, Penn State (Altoona), Coppin State, Lincoln, and Kutztown.
With a total pinfall of 4044, HU finished seventh out of 13 teams during bakers play and finished seventh out of 12 during team play with 4472 pinfall.
Gia Bethea paced the mighty blue and white with a game-high 209, a total pinfall of 930 and 27th place finish out of 107 student-athletes.
