WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard University women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-4 decision to Cincinnati Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium. The setback puts the Bison at 1-7 on the season while the Bearcats improve to 2-9.
Howard got three goals from Sakia Holley and one from Alanah Webb, but Cincinnatti took 9-1 halftime lead and held on to hand HU its fourth straight loss.
Goalkeeper Bianca Lamar had 11 saves and Holley led HU with six ground balls. The Bearcats, who had 11 different players scored at least one goal each, were led by Shannon Lynes' three goals.
Howard was outshot, 40-17, and trailed in ground balls, 16-13.
The Lady Bison are back in action Wednesday, April 6 for a game against Navy. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Annapolis, Md.
