ANNAPOLIS, MD. - The Howard women's lacrosse team dropped its season opener to Navy, 24-2 on a snowy Friday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The Lady Bison (0-1) got a pair of goals from junior Desiree Cox. Amber Meeks and Ashley Foote finished with three ground balls each, while Sara Hayden, Jazzmin Drennon and Cox contributed one ground ball apiece.

Meeks also added five saves as the goalkeeper for HU.

Howard is off for a few weeks and will look to rebound when it hosts Niagara on Feb. 20.
