OBERLIN, OHIO - Junior attack Desiree Cox (Hendersonville, Tenn./Lees-McRae) tallied eight goals and senior midfield Ashlee Brown (Detroit, Mich./East Detroit) added four as the Howard women’s lacrosse team defeated Oberlin, 17-8 Sunday afternoon in Oberlin, Ohio.
Brown opened up the scoring for HU with an unassisted goal at 25:43.
Oberlin took a 2-1 lead after a pair of free position shots, but Brown's goal at 22:25 sparked a 6-0 Bison run that put the Howard on top for good. Howard led 12-4 at halftime.
Cox finished with a game-high 10 points. Brown contributed five points while Ashley Lawrence and Eboni Farmer had two points apiece after finding the back of the net two times.
Jazzmin Drennon also added one goal for the Bison (2-11).
Howard keeper Amber Meeks stopped six shots in the win.
The Lady Bison will travel to Lewisburg, Va. on Sunday, April 11 for its regular season finale versus Bucknell.
