Desiree Cox Named NLC Attacker of the Year
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Junior Desiree Cox (Hendersonville, Tenn./Lees-McRae College) was named the National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) Attacker of the Year in voting conducted by the league's head coaches and announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Cox also received first team All-NLC honors for her efforts this season.
The Tennessee native led the conference in goals (57) while finishing as the runner-up in points (65) and shots on goal (97). Cox also ranked third in the NLC in shots attempted (123).
Cox was the top all-around performer for Howard this spring, leading the team in goals, points, assists (8) and draw controls (36), The March 23 NLC Player of the Week also boasts a 3.6 grade-point average and was one of two Bison named to the NLC All-Academic Team.
Cox and the rest of the Lady Bison will face Davidson in the opening round of the NLC Tournament on Friday at 10 a.m.
