Cox Named National Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Junior attack Desiree Cox (Hendersonville, Tenn./Lees-McRae) has been named the National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) Player of the Week for games on March 15-21.
Cox led the Lady Bison in a pair of contests last week, including Howard’s first win of the season, a 21-2 triumph over Trinity (DC) on March 15. She notched six goals vs. Trinity (DC) and seven goals vs. Presbyterian on March 21. The junior totaled 17 points, 13 goals, three caused turnovers and two ground balls in both games last week.
Cox currently sits atop the NLC standings in points (39) and goals (34).
Cox and the rest of the Lady Bison host Central Connecticut State in a non-league matchup on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
