WASHINGTON, D.C. - Juniors Ashley Foote (St. Louis, Mo./Mary Institute Country Day) and Desiree Cox (Hendersonville, Tenn./Lees-McRae) were named to the 2010 National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) All-Academic Team on Wednesday, as announced by the league office.
A total of 19 athletes were named to the academic team.
NLC athletes were named to the team based on a minimum 3.4 grade point average. The athletes also must be a sophomore in class standing and have been a starter or key reserve.
Detroit led the league with five student-athletes on the All-Academic team, while Liberty and Longwood had four honorees each. Presbyterian was represented with three student-athletes and Jacksonville had one.
