Detroit Cruises Past Howard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Anna Eiden scored six goals to lead the University of Detroit's women's lacrosse team to a 20-1 victory over Howard Saturday afternoon at Greene Stadium.
The Titans (1-0) held the Bison scoreless in the first half and took a 13-0 lead at the intermission.
Senior Sakita Holley stopped the drought after finding the back of the net early in the second stanza.
HU goalie Amber Meeks recorded 10 saves while Detroit keeper Brett Yender stopped five shots.
The Titans outshot Howard 34-8 and held an 11-8 advantage on ground balls.
HU (0-2) travels to New Castle, Del. next weekend for a matchup against Wilmington before returning home on March 4 for a scrimmage against Wilkes.
