BUFFALO, N.Y. - Ashley Lawrence scored two goals and Sakita Holley added one but it was not enough as Howard fell to Canisius, 16-3, in a women's lacrosse contest Saturday afternoon at Demske Sports Arena.

The Griffs took a 12-0 halftime lead before HU rebounded in the second period. Holley scored her goal with 20:25 left while Lawrence contributed back-to-back goals with 12:40 and 9:10 left, respectively.

Nyla Funderburk stopped 10 shots at GK and picked up the loss for Howard while Sarah Podlesh got the win for Canisius (2-3).

The Griffs were led by Chelsea Martinez, who scored a game-high three goals. Brianne Laffey added five assists.

The Lady Bison (0-3) return to action tomorrow with a matchup against Niagara. Game time against the Purple Eagles is slated for 11 am.
