FARMVILLE, VA. - Howard fell to Longwood, 22-5, in the semifinals of the National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) Championship. The Bison move on to face Presbyterian in the consolation game on Sunday.
The Lancers jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but HU got on the board less than a minute later with a Lauren Rivers goal with 25:20 remaining in the first half.
Longwood went on to score seven-straight goals for a 10-1 lead with 7:42 left until the break. An Ashley Lawrence goal cut the lead to 10-2 but the Lancers scored the final three goals of the half for a 13-2 lead at the intermission.
The Lady Bison (1-12) got a pair of goals from senior Sakita Holley. Rivers added one goal and one assist while Lawrence collected five draw controls for HU.
