HOWARD SUFFERS 17-11 SETBACK AGAINST COASTAL CAROLINA

Washington, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) – March 12 – The Howard University women's lacrosse team fell, 17-11, against Coastal Carolina (2-5) on Monday afternoon.  Junior Courtney Lackey led all scorers with 5 goals in the outing.  Howard returns to action on Friday, March 15 when the squad travel to Dover, Del. to face Delaware State.

Junior Cynthia Smalls was the second leading scorer with four goals; Jillian Parker tallied a score during the contest.

Coastal held a demanding five point led when Lackey scored the first Bison point.  Coastal went on another scoring spree during the first half until Smalls scored from an assisted pass from Lackey.

However, the Bison experienced their own scoring spree in the second half when three different Bison scored four points.

Howard's Candace Ross recorded nine saves between the pipes.  Howard outpaced Coastal in draw controls.

The Bison will head to Dover, Del., to take on Delaware State on Friday, Mar. 15 at 1:00 p.m.
