Towson Downs Howard, 1-0 in Women?s Soccer
Washington, DC, September 4—Marissa Gross scored the game’s only goal 15 minutes in the match to help Towson University defeat Howard University, 1-0 in a non-conference women’s soccer game in Greene Stadium.
Gross’ goal came off an assist from Jaime Swears. It was the first win of the season for the Tigers (1-0-1) while the Lady Bison (0-3-0), remain winless.
Howard was out-shot, 11-3. Senior goalkeeper Lindsey Walton had another fine effort, recording seven saves.
The Lady Bison will try to get their first win on Friday at 4 p.m. when they take on Seton Hall in the first round of the US Naval Academy Tournament in Annapolis, MD.
