Liberty Downs Howard, 2-1 in Women?s Soccer
Washington, DC, October 24—Tanya Payne scored the game winning goal to lead Liberty University to a 2-1 victory over Howard in a non-conference women’s soccer game in Greene Stadium.
Howard’s Kyrah Bacote scored the games first goal in the 4th minute to give the Bison a 1-0 lead. Liberty’s Ashley Braam scored her team’s first goal of the game in the 28th minute to tie the game at one. Payne scored the go ahead point off a penalty kick in the 41st minute.
With this loss Howard who fell to 4-10-1 on the season while Liberty improves to 8-6-2.
Howard will host Longwood University on Sunday, October 30 at 4 p.m. in a United Soccer Conference match-up. This will be the final home contest for the Bison. This will also be Seniors Day for the Bison.
