Boxscore

Washington, DC, Aug 26---Ashlie Knowles and Nikki Khanna scored one goal each to lead St. Francis (Pa) to a 2-0 victory over Howard this afternoon in Greene Stadium.

Knowles scored the first goal of the game in the 30th minute while Howard was playing with a man down due to injury.  Despite the man shortage, Howard would hold the Red Flash scoreless for the remaining of the first half, going into the half down 1-0.

Howard came out strong for the first thirty minutes of the second half, until Khanna scored the Red Flash second goal of the game in the 61st minute.

Despite entering the game down two players due to injury, first year Bison head coach Erinn Garner sees positive things in her team.  "We saw some good things today but there are definitely adjustments that need to be made," said Garner.  "I feel we played well in the first half despite playing 30 minutes one player short which shows that the team has hustle."

With the win, St. Francis (Pa) improves to 1-0 on the season while the Bison fall to 0-1.

Howard will return to Greene Stadium Monday when they host Charleston Southern at 2 p.m.
