Howard Downs SCSU in Women's Soccer Action

ORANGEBURG, S.C. - The Howard women's soccer team took down South Carolina State, 2-0, in a conference matchup Friday afternoon in Orangeburg, S.C. The Lady Bison picked up its second win of the season with the victory and improved to 2-1 in conference play (2-11 overall) while the Lady Bulldogs fell to 2-11 and 0-3 in the USC.

Howard held SCSU to just four shots, three of them on goal while the Lady Bison took 15 shots and seven on goal.

Natalie Williston scored an unassisted goal for HU at 17:33 and Meghan Nick picked up the other goal for the Bison at 66:24 on an assist from Briana Gamble.

Howard held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks and GK Jessamyn Perkins picked up three saves in the shutout. Alechia Brothers finished with five saves in 90 minutes of action for the Bulldogs.

The Lady Bison will wrap up its road trip with a non-conference game against Francis Marion on Sunday.
