Howard Upended by Buffalo
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Buffalo scored two goals in the first half en route to a 2-0 win over Howard in women's soccer action Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium.
Heidi Griffiths got the Bulls on board at 14:48 after scoring an assisted goal up the middle. Caitlin Higgins added a second goal for UB in the 33rd minute on an assist by Brooke McCalla.
The Lady Bison had three good scoring chances after falling behind but failed to score.
Buffalo's Amy Coron recorded four saves to earn the shutout for UB. Jessamyn Perkins turned away seven shots in the loss.
The Bulls took 16 shots, nine of them on goal compared to eight shots and four on goal by HU. Buffalo committed 15 fouls and 12 offsides while Howard finished with eight and two, respectively.
Howard (0-8) returns to action next Wednesday (Sept. 26) at home in its conference opener against Utah Valley State.
