Howard Womens Soccer Team Falls On the Road
Florence, S.C.-Francis Marion erupted for six first half goals and went on to overwhelm Howard University, 14-0 in a women's non-conference soccer match. The Patriots senior forward Ashley Fortune set an NCAA single-match record for assists with eight.
The Bison (2-12-0), who have been undermanned all season due to injuries, managed only four shots while allowing 22 to the hosts. The lone bright spot for Howard was the play of Jessamyn Perkins, who was credited with five saves.
The Bison's next match is a conference matchup at NJIT on Wednesday at 7 pm in Newark, N.J.
