ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Howard improved to 3-0-1 in conference play with a 2-0 win over South Carolina Sunday afternoon at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
Rachael Lee and Cynthia Snyder each scored one goal apiece for HU. Jordan Brown and Stephanie McLean added one assist each.
Goalkeeper Chanel Bell picked up five saves and her third shutout of the year.
Howard (3-7-2, 3-0-1 GW) had 15
shots to 11 for SC State, which was led by Brook Ehinger with four
shots.
"It was a disappointing loss," South Carolina coach Glad Bugariu
said. "Howard came in and played a fantastic match. They deserve to
win and are now in control of the East Region of our conference. It
(the GWC East Region) is theirs to win.
The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 8-6-1 (2-2-0 GW) with the loss.
The Bison are off for a week before resuming league action on Sunday, Oct. 25 against NJIT.
