FAIRFAX, VA. - Howard was topped by George Mason, 4-0 in a women's soccer decision Sunday afternoon in Fairfax, Va.

Sophomore goalkeeper Chanel Bell (Goleta, Calif./Dos Pueblos H.S.) faced 19 shots on goal and turned aside 15, however the Patriots scored three times in the first half for a 3-0 lead at the break.

Cynthia Snyder, Retha Koefoed and Cheyra Bell had two shot attempts apiece for HU. Briana Gamble, Rachael Lee and Jordan Brown each chipped in a shot.

The Lady Bison forced seven Mason fouls and held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.

"Howard's a much-improved team that works very hard and is very scrappy," said George Mason head coach Diane Drake. "I Thought we lost our edge in the second half and held the ball too long. It's the sign of a quality team."

The Bison (0-3) face off with VMI on Tuesday in a 2pm matchup in Lexington, Va.
