Howard Holds Off NJIT in Double OT

WASHINGTON, DC - Retha Koefoed scored off a penalty kick in the second extra session to give Howard a 2-1 double-overtime victory against the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Sun. Oct. 26. With the win, the Bison improve to 4-5 on the season and 1-0 in Great West play.

HU's first goal came in the 33rd minute when Jordan Brown crossed the ball to the left side to find the foot of Cynthia Snyder for a shot five yards out. The Bison edged the Highlanders 5-4 in first-half shots. 

The second half was relatively quiet with Howard managing just one shot and NJIT two. The Highlanders scored with three minutes remaining in regulation to send the game into an extra period.

Cheyra Bell played 110 minutes with one save on the day.

Howard is back in action on Oct. 9 at Longwood beginning at 2 p.m.
