EMMITSBURG, MD - The Howard Univ. women's soccer team rolled to a 1-0 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Fri. Sept. 9. Tonight marks the first win of the 2011 season, and now hold a mark of 1-4-1.
HU scored the lone goal of the game in the 36th minute to earn the win. Retha Koefoed placed a header into the bottom right corner of the goal from the top of the penalty box to lift Howard to the victory. Nia Wolcott got the assist on the play with her cross to Koefoed in the middle.
Goalkeeper Kyra Dickinson held off The Mount attempts to tie the score in the second half, making four saves in the period.
HU is back in action on Sun. Sept. 11 against Robert Morris beginning at 1 p.m.
