W. Soccer Drops Nailbiter in Overtime
WASHINGTON, DC – The Howard Univ. women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 overtime decision against Great West Conference opponent South Carolina St. at Greene Stadium Thurs. afternoon. The loss drops the Bison to 0-2 in conference play.
SCSU's Olivia Moore scored a header goal off a corner kick from Veronica Aguilar with 29 seconds left in the extra session to give the Bulldogs the victory.
SCSU controlled the tempo in the first half, preventing the HU offense from taking any shots while managing seven of their own. In the second half, however, Howard came out with intensity – outshooting the Bulldogs 4-1. Owyn Manson took two shots for the Bison, while Sydney Ross, Nia Walcott, and Cynthia Snyder managed a shot each.
The Bison are back in action on Oct. 13 at Utah Valley St. beginning at 7 p.m.
