OREM, Utah - An 81st-minute equalizer by Utah Valley forced overtime, and another goal in the 105th minute gave the Wolverines a dramatic 2-1 win in double overtime against the Lady Bison in Orem, Utah on Thurs night.
With the loss, HU women's soccer drops to 0-3 in Great West Conference play, and 1-11-1 overall.
The lone goal that gave Howard the lead came in the 26th minute following a corner kick. It was the only shot on goal for the Bison on a night when Utah Valley would finish with 25 shots including 18 on goal.
UVU's Ashley Burdett's goal came following a direct kick by Lexi Dunn from 35 yards out that Howard keeper Kyra Dickinson deflected off the cross bar. Burdett followed the save with a header on goal before rebounding another save and finding the back of the net with just 9:17 to go.
The Bison are back in action on Oct. 15 at North Dakota beginning at 1 p.m.
