PRINCESS ANNE, MD. - Howard defeated Maryland Eastern Shore 4-0 but fell 4-3 in a pair of MEAC women's tennis matchups Monday afternoon in Princess Anne, Md.

Jasmine Smith, Michele Gee and Alyssa Works each won singles matchups while Smith and Gee took down Fatoumata Ba/Bolanle Abioye, 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Works and Jorden Shaw defeated Latoya Coultrane and Christine Bermudez while Whitney Ambush and Aja Dawson made easy work of Brigette Squire and Whitney Pullen at No. 3 singles, winning 8-0.

In the nightcap, HU and DSU each won three singles matchups but the Hornets edged the Bison in doubles, winnng No. 1 and No. 3 to take the 4-3 conference win.

Howard wraps up its season tomorrow with a contest against Georgetown at 2 pm.
