Women's Tennis Wins Fourth Straight
FAIRFAX, VA. - Howard defeated George Mason, 5-2, in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday in Fairfax, Va. The win was the fourth straight for the Lady Bison.
The Patriots (14-7) took the doubles point after edging HU at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. But Howard (8-3) rebounded by taking five of the six singles contests.
Brittney Morgan defeated Kiersten Pappas, 6-2, 6-1 at the No 1. singles spot before Michelle Brown made easy work of Lindsay Gray at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1.
Ashley Moore defeated Alison Wingo, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles and Michele Gee was victorious over Meredith Cutchin at the No. 5 spot. Anne Akhimien won the final singles decision for HU with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Aryn Christman.
Howard resumes conference action on Friday, April 2. The Lady Bison will take on Maryland Eastern Shore at 9:30 AM before facing off with Delaware State at 1 PM.
