Bison Fall to Red Storm
WASHINGTON, D.C. - St. John's handed Howard a 7-0 loss on Thursday in a non-conference match at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
The Red
Storm swept all nine matches and halted Michelle
Brown's individual win streak at five straight.
In singles action, Ira Aleksova defeated Brown 6-3,
7-5 at No. 1 and Joanna
Zwirbulis beat Brittney Morgan 6-4, 7-6
(1-7) in a tough matchup at No. 2.
Morgan and Alyssa Works fell 8-6 at No. 1 doubles to Ece
Firat and Jenny Jenkins while Brown and Ashley Moore dropped a No.
2 doubles decision to Nakita Austin/Joanna
Zwirbulis. Ksenia Mikhaylova and Alyssa Liantonio of St.
John's defeated Michele Gee and Anne Ahkimien, 8-5 at No. 3
doubles.
