Annapolis, MD- After a tough loss against Navy last weekend, the Lady Bison have bounced back. The Howard University women's tennis team (3-6) swept the Seton Hall University Pirates (1-6) with a final score of 7-0.
The Lady Bison are picking up more and more speed mid-way through the season, and set the tempo early on, capturing two of the three doubles matches and gaining the overall doubles point. Michelle Brown and partner, Katelyn Stokes, pulled out a close 8-6 victory at the top doubles spot. Meanwhile, number two doubles team, Brittney Morgan and Brooke Hawthorne claimed an easy 8-3 win.
The Lady Bison kept their energy up as they transitioned into singles. Katelyn Stokes pummeled the competition with a 6-2, 6-1 win against Seton Hall's Belfin Sunbul. Alyssa Works followed suit, defeating Courtney Kilarski at the number five singles position (6-4,6-2). Anne Akhimien also dominated at the number six spot with a win 6-2, 6-1 win against Karina Cordero.
