Lady Bison Sail Through UMES

Washington, DC - The Howard University Women's tennis team (4-7) came out on top with a 7-0 victory against University of Maryland Eastern Shore (1-8).

All three doubles teams captured 8-0 victories, including sophomore Brittney Morgan and her doubles partner, senior and Philadelphia native, Amber Cuff. Morgan and Cuff played the number three doubles position, defeating UMES's Alisia Belt and Angelica Johnson.

The intense energy of the Lady Bison carried over into the singles play. Playing the number one single position, stand-out freshman, Katelyn Stokes, had an easy 6-0,6-1 win over Solana McMillian. Sophomore, Anne Akhimien, followed suit, defeating Alisia Belt (6-0, 6-0) at the number singles positions. And making an outstanding debut at the number six singles position was Amber Cuff. Cuff defeated Angelica Johnson with a final score of 6-0, 6-0.
