Bison Roll Over Bears
BALTIMORE, MD. - The Howard volleyball team won its third straight decision and five of its last six matches with a 3-0 sweep of Morgan State Sunday afternoon at Hill Field House. The win pushed HU to 2-0 in league play.
Gazelle d'Artois tallied 20 kills
and hit for a .514 attack percentage, both match-highs. Jasmine
King recorded 35 assists, marking her fourth consecutive match
with 30 or more assists and Nicole Brown finished with a match-high
12 digs to help Howard (6-18, 2-0 MEAC) spoil the Bears'
homecoming match.
Morgan State (5-16, 0-2 MEAC), which has now lost its last six
matches, also suffered its 14th shutout loss of the season. Erin
Cox led Morgan State with a team-high 11 kills while Ivanti Bush
added nine. Ryhan Shy led the Lady Bears in digs with 12.
The Lady Bison finished the match with 40 kills and a hitting
percentage of .402. Howard had 16 kills in the second set and put
together a match-high .667 hitting percentage in the third set with
12 kills on 18 attempts and no errors.
HU hosts Navy in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
