King Named to Courtyard by Marriott All-Tournament Team

PITTSBURGH, PA. - Freshman setter Jasmine King (Rex, Ga./Chamblee H.S.) has been named to the Courtyard by Marriott All-Tournament team. The tournament was the season opener for the Lady Bison volleyball squad.

King finished with 92 assists and 27 digs in four matches at the invitational. She had a .429 attack percentage (3-0-7) against Robert Morris and felt just shy of double-doubles against Radford and Duquesne. King tallied 22 assists and nine digs against the Highlanders while notching 31 assists and eight digs versus the Dukes, co-host of the tourney.

Howard fell 3-1 to Radford and 3-0 to Duquesne on day one of the tournament. Day two saw HU drop a pair of 3-0 contests to Bowling Green and Robert Morris.

Junior Nicole Brown (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly H.S.) and sophomore Jiya Brown (Santa Ana, Calif./Mater Dei H.S.) added 14 and 12 digs, respectively, against RU. Nicole Brown had a match-high 14 digs against Duquesne while junior Gazelle d'Artois (Newhall, Calif./Hart H.S.) chipped in 13 kills and nine digs.

d'Artois added a match-high 14 kills against the Colonials while adding a team-high nine digs on the defensive end. Jiya Brown also dug out nine balls against Robert Morris.

HU (0-4) is back in action on Sept. 4-5 at the Liberty Invitational presented by Pepsi.
