Streak Ends With 3-0 Loss to GW

WASHINGTON DC - Boxscore / The Howard University volleyball team saw its streak come to a halt after dropping a 3-0 decision to area opponent George Washington. With the loss, the Lady Bison drop to 3-13 on the season, while the Colonials improve to 10-6. HU will wrap-up non-conference action on Sept. 29 at Loyola (MD). First serve is set for 7 p.m.

"We were outplayed," said head coach Dawn Barnes. "I need more than Elebute to do a great job. The rest of the team needs to step up. [George Washington] deserved the 'W' tonight."

As a team, Howard struggled on the offensive end. Tosin Elebute led the Lady Bison - recording an impressive 21-for-44 for a .341 kill percentage. Gazelle d'Artois had six kills and 11 assists on the night. Jasmine King dished out 22 assists on 36 total Bison kills.

The defensive effort was spread throughout the team as Jiyana Brown and Elebute finished with five digs apiece, while Gabrielle Martin and Nicole Brown had four.

Howard takes to the road on Sept. 29 to face Loyola (MD) beginning at 7 p.m.
