Rider Defeats Howard Volleyball 3-0

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (www.howard-bison.com) – The Howard University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to Rider University on Saturday, Aug. 25 in an afternoon match in Lawrenceville, N.J.

Sophomore Stephanie Shultis and sophomore Meagan Lagerlef notched a team-high four kills, as Shultis also tallied a match-high seven assists. 

Sophomore Alexis Skinner guided the defense with 14 digs.

As a unit, HU collected 14 kills, 13 assists and 36 digs.

Rider's Jaclyn Webber notched six kills, while Ashlee Amatulli circulated nine assists.  Kayla Wong served five service aces, as Brittany Gajewski attained 15 digs.  Stephanie Nagy also assisted in the defensive effort with four block assists.

The mighty blue and white returns to the court for the two-day Pittsburgh Panther Invitational hosted by the University of Pittsburgh on Aug. 31-Sept. 1, over two days of action, HU battles Butler, Pittsburgh and Coastal Carolina.
