WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) – During their Mid-Eastern Athletic COnfernce weekend in Baltimore, Md., the Howard University women's volleyball squad dropped to 0-6 in conference play with a 3-0 loss to Coppin State (Friday, Oct. 12) and a 3-0 loss to Morgan State (Sunday, Oct. 14).
Against CSU, Assata Conway led the mighty blue and white with eight kills on 16 attempts with four errors. Jalezza Stoudermire finished the contest with seven kills with three errors on 16 attempts, while Meagan Lagerlef tallied six kills on 33 attempts with seven errors.
Stephani Shultis circulated 23 assists, while Jasmine Tipton collected five digs and Stoudermire assisted on two blocks.
Collectively, HU attained 34 kills on 99 attempts, 27 attempts, three service aces, 19 digs and three team blocks.
During Sunday's contest against MSU, HU's Lagerlef attained a weekend high 11kills on 30 attempts with seven errors. Shultis followed with eight kills with four errors on 15 attempts. Shultis also guided the assists category with 24, while Stoudermire gathered 12 digs.
As a unit, the Bison notched 37 kills with 32 errors on 113 attempts, 34 assists, six service aces 37 digs and four team blocks.
HU returns home on Wednesday, Oct. 17 to host American University at 5:30 p.m. in Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C.
