NEWARK, DEL. - Howard took the course at the Blue and Gold Invitational on Saturday, hosted by the University of Delaware. The meet was the regular season finale for HU and the squad will now prepare for the MEAC Championship on Oct. 31.
Thurman Sanders took home top honors for the men's squad in 27:17.63, placing him 29th overall.
Michael Gallion finished the 8k race in 28:21.19 and Richard Williams was the third finisher after crossing the line in 28:21.61.
Peter Gentles was the fourth HU finisher in 29:03.35 and Jerod Franklin finished the course in 29:44.95.
Hamadi Price also took the course and finished in 30:45.56.
The Bison men took seventh overall in the team standings with 205 points.
The Lady Bison grabbed 278 points for a 10th-place finish in the team standings.
Ashley Hodges, the top finisher for Howard on the women's squad, placed 19th overall in 19:50.91.
Jami Hardy crossed the line in 20:48.20 and Brittany Jackson was the third Bison finisher in 22:03.53.
Danielle Douglas finished the 5k race in 23:00.93 and Amelia Woodruff completed the course in 25:56.00.
