Howard Takes the Course at Mason Invite

CENTREVILLE, VA. - Ashley Hodges and Thurman Sanders paced the men's and women's cross-country teams at the Mason Invitational on Saturday.
Sanders finished 39th overall
in 8k course at Bull Run Park in 26:50. Michael
Gallion and Richard Williams placed 44th and 59th in
27:07 and 27:45, respectively. Jerod Franklin finished
72nd in 28:17 and the fifth member of the Bison team, Hamadi Price
finished in 99th in 29:58.
The men's squad finished in 7th overall with a total of 216 points. Host team George Mason finished in 3rd with 85 points after 2nd place Columbia (34 pts) and 1st place Virginia (21 pts).
Hodges was the first Lady Bison finisher after crossing the line in 23:53. Jami Hardy was 58th for HU. Juniors Tamila Myles and Brittany Jackson finished back to back in 78th and 79th place in 27:28 and 27:51, respectively.
Freshman Danielle Douglas crossed
the finish line with a time of 28:39. Amelia Woodruff
finished out the competition in 32:42.
The next competition will be the Blue Hen Classic on October 17 in Newark, Del.
