Cross Country Teams Continue to Show Improvement

LEESBERG, Va. - The Howard University men's and women's cross country team competed at George Mason University this past Saturday Oct. 1, 2011. Both squads continue to show improvement as the men's team placed fifth, while the women took seventh.
For the Bison men, freshman Giorani Mowatt came in 26th with a time of 27:19 in the eight mile, leading the HU pack. Coming in six seconds later was sophomore Aaron Harrison with a time of 27:25.
Leading the Howard women was sophomore Candice German coming in 49th with a time of 26:51. Shortly after, followed junior Danielle Douglas, sophomore Doriean Broady, and sophomore Symone Glover consecutively with times of 29:54, 31:33, 32:58, respectively.
The teams will shift its focus to October 15, when they travel to compete at the University of Delaware.
