Bison Men Finish Third; Giovani, Harrison and Rono Named All MEAC

Princess Anne, MD—October 29--Mowatt Giovani, Aaron Harrison and Elly Rono were all named to the 2011 All MEAC Cross Country team after their combined efforts helped Howard capture third place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference cross country championship this past Saturday at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.  The Bison finished with 76 points to finish behind second place Florida A&M (54), and 2011 champion, Norfolk State (30).  It was Howard's highest finish since 2007 when it also finished third.

Giovani, a freshman from Jamaica, finished seventh, clocking in at a time of 26:26.57.  Harrison, a sophomore from Chesapeake, VA, placed ninth with a time of 26:35.40 and Rono, a sophomore from Kenya, timed at 27:16.94, good for 15th place.  The first 15 finishers are automatically named All MEAC.
