Astigmatism is a common vision problem that occurs when the eye is not perfectly round. Astigmatism causes the eye to focus light in two separate points instead of one, which results in blurred vision. It can be caused by an irregularly shaped cornea, aging, or an injury to the eye. It can’t be caused or made worse by reading in poor light or sitting too close to the screen (so you’re safe with 22Bet).

There are two types of astigmatism: regular (or simple) astigmatism and irregular (or complex) astigmatism.

Regular astigmatism is caused by a slightly curved cornea, while irregular astigmatism is caused by a misshapen cornea or lens. Most people with astigmatism have regular astigmatism, which is usually genetic. In fact, about one in three people has this condition.

There is no cure for astigmatism. But it can be treated with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery. If you have mild astigmatism, you may not need treatment at all. If you do need treatment, your doctor will likely prescribe glasses or contact lenses.

If you wear glasses, you’ll need to get a new prescription every one to two years. If you wear contact lenses, you have a few different options. You can choose between soft lenses and gas-permeable lenses. Gas-permeable lenses are more durable and provide better vision, but they’re also more expensive.

If you have severe astigmatism, you may need surgery to correct the shape of your eye. There are two types of surgery for astigmatism:

LASIK surgery: This type of surgery uses a laser to change the shape of your cornea.

• Astigmatic keratotomy: This type of surgery involves making small cuts in your cornea. This changes the way that light enters your eye, which improves your vision.

If you have any type of vision problem, you should see an optometrist or ophthalmologist. An eye doctor can tell you if you have astigmatism and what kind you have.
